Dr Kyriacos Leptos

Subject Biophysics
Fellow type Postdoctoral By-Fellows
Year started 2018

Kyriacos Leptos is a Senior Research Associate in the group of Prof. Raymond Goldstein in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.

He holds a BA in Biological Sciences from Cornell University and a PhD in Genetics from Harvard University, where his dissertation on Proteomics and Bioinformatics was supervised by George Church.

Kyriacos’s research focuses on interdisciplinary projects involving Biology and Physics. In particular, he is interested in the physiology of sensing and locomotion, at the cellular level, during behavioural responses such as phototaxis and chemotaxis. Deciphering the circuitry involved in these processes can help in the design of artificial microrobots for environmental and medical applications.
