Dr Nicolas Bierne is a French Government Overseas Fellow.

Nicolas is a population geneticist from the University of Montpellier (France) with broad interests in evolutionary biology. His group combines genome sequencing, lab experiments and field studies, as well as theoretical developments, in order to investigate the mechanisms at play during adaptation and speciation. He is mostly recognized for his work on hybrid zones and introgression. Recently he became interested in transmissible cancer evolution.
