Dr. Ramit Debnath is an assistant professor and Cambridge Zero fellow at the University of Cambridge and a visiting academic at Caltech. He leads the interdisciplinary Cambridge Collective Intelligence & Design research group. Dr. Debnath sits on the steering committee of Cambridge’s new Centre for Human-Inspired AI. With a background in electrical engineering and computational social sciences, he designs collective intelligence approaches to provide a data-driven, complex system-level understanding of barriers to climate action in the Anthropocene, their interactions, and how these translate to leverage points for policy and behavioural interventions at scale. Previously, he has held positions at Caltech, Cambridge Computer Laboratory, UN Environment Programme, International Energy Agency, Stanford University, and IIT Bombay. Ramit received his MPhil and PhD from Cambridge as a Gates Scholar.
