Biography


Satpal Singh is a Professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, USA. He studies molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and cardiac arrhythmias induced by ion channel dysfunction. He uses Drosophila, and cell lines expressing human ion channels, to study these phenomena.

He speaks and writes on the issue of violence against women, and has organized national and international panel discussions on it. He participates in interfaith dialogues on diversity, religion and peace, and has delivered a prayer on peace and harmony along with Pope Francis at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City.
