Dr Wei Qian

Subject Mathematics
Fellow type Junior Research Fellows
Year started 2017

Wei Qian is currently a Junior Research Fellow in Churchill college. She has completed her PhD in ETH Zürich under the supervision of Wendelin Werner, before moving to the University of Cambridge in April 2017. She is in the meantime a Swiss National Science Fondation (NSF) fellow from April 2017 to September 2018.

Wei Qian’s research focuses on two-dimensional random objects such as the Brownian loop-soup, the conformal loop ensembles, the Gaussian free field, the Liouville quantum gravity and so on. These objects are good candidates for describing the scaling limits of various models coming from statistical mechanics. She aims to understand better the properties of these objects and the relations between them in order to get further understanding of the physical systems behind.
