Enterprise Competition Judge and postgraduate in Engineering (G85)
Steve was until April 2017 the Director of Rolls-Royce Digital. He is now a non-executive director of a number of start-ups based in Cambridge and Oxford, and chair of GeoSpock Ltd, a Cambridge University spin out providing real time, extreme scale database capability. He is a senior associate of the strategy consultancy NormannPartners and a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of Loughborough University School of Business and Economics.
Steve was previously Director of Corporate Planning at Rolls-Royce, leading the company’s strategic planning process and managing the flow of major investment decisions to the investment review committee and the board. In a wide-ranging career with Rolls-Royce he has held a variety of strategy, operational and product line leadership roles located in the UK, USA and Germany.
Steve spent his early professional years as a real time control systems engineer. This led to an interest in formal systems for quality management and subsequently to various jobs in quality assurance, finance and programme management.
Steve has studied at Loughborough University, Churchill College Cambridge and Oxford Saïd Business School. He is married with three children and enjoys keeping fit and helping to lead the local cub scout pack.
