Undergraduate vacation opportunities

Undergraduates may wish to consider research opportunities during the vacation.

It should be noted that it is university policy that students should be paid properly for vacation work within the university, and with companies who should be expected to be able to pay. College will therefore not in general part fund such opportunities, or provide bursaries to “top up” underpayment, but might in future be able to offer some fully funded research opportunities.

Every year, the college offers a number of Summer Opportunities Bursaries for Churchill Undergraduates who are not finalists. These bursaries provide support for a summer project outside of your course for 8 weeks, during which you will be entitled to College Accommodation. The only requirements are that it must not be part of your academic course and you must have the support of an appropriate supervisor.

The Summer Opportunities Bursaries are usually advertised to students at the end of Lent Term.

Undergraduates taking essential courses in the Vacation may be eligible to receive financial support from the relevant Faculty or Department.
