Study with us
All new undergraduates are expected to arrive by 3pm on Saturday 5 October 2019 for the start of the Freshers’ Programme.
Please note access to your room cannot be guaranteed until 11am. If you arrive earlier do not worry there will be loads of things to do and people to meet. The JCR committee will be on hand to welcome you, the Tutorial Office staff, Steph and Louise, will give you lots of useful information, the Student Finance Officer can chat about funding and other staff from the Finance Office will be there too.
Once the Room Ballot has taken place you will be allocated a room. You must then fill in the Arrivals Form below.
Please submit the Arrivals Form by Monday 16 September 2019
If you are required to arrive before Saturday 5 October you need to inidicate this in the Arrivals Form so that we can arrange early accommodation for you. We will contact you to confirm your accommodation within 5 working days of you submitting your request.
Students required to arrive early are:
Please note: if you arrive early you will not necessarily be allocated the room you will be living in for your first academic year. Due to maintenance, refurbishments and our commercial activity some rooms are not available until the period of residence begins, which is Saturday 5 October 2019.
International students (all non-UK students) will be invited to our International Freshers’ Week which will be held from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 October 2019. You will also be able to attend the Orientation for International Students Programme organised by the University’s International Office on Friday 4 October, details to follow.
Where possible, on your arrival, we will try to allocate you the room you will be living in for your first academic year, however this is not always feasible.
After A-Level results day you are likely to be invited to join us for pre-sessional classes. They are provisionally scheduled from Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 October so it is likely that you will need to arrive on Tuesday 1 October (this will be confirmed in August).
Please be aware that on arrival you will not necessarily be allocated the room you will be living in for your first academic year. If you are joining us from the UK it would be very helpful if you could travel light and only bring with you what you need for those few days and, if possible, have your other belongings brought up on Saturday 5 October after 11am when you can move into your own room.
Some of you may also need to come early as part of the IAS.
