Usually we would be delighted to welcome your school to Churchill or to come and see you and your pupils in your setting. The University as a whole will not be engaging in face-to-face outreach activity until the first few months of next year. So we have set up these Virtual School/College Visits.
This session provides an introduction to Churchill College and the University of Cambridge. There is information about the University and what it is like to study at Cambridge. There is also guidance on choosing subjects and Colleges.
There are a number of video resources below, which we think will be helpful for this topic. Of these, you can choose the ones which that are of an appropriate length and that are particularly relevant to your school/college.
Further videos can also be found on our YouTube channel and, in particular, the Virtual Churchill playlist. So do have a look at these to further customise your 'visit'.
In addition to these videos, you will find some Virtual Tours and relevant links below. We hope you can use the resources to create a tailor-made Virtual School/College Visit that will offer appropriate information and guidance to your pupils.
For example, a visit might include
- 'Welcome to Churchill'
- 'What is a Cambridge College?'
- 'What is a supervision?'
- 'What opportunities does studying at Cambridge offer?'
- 'What characteristics do we look for in prospective students?'
- 'Cambridge: The Application Process'
- 'How do we assess applications?'
This would take 30-35 minutes. A longer visit might include 'Preparing to make competitive applications to University' and some time looking at our Subject Explore website and the Virtual Tour.
