Study with us
Usually we would be delighted to welcome your school to Churchill or to come and see you and your pupils in your setting. The University as a whole will not be engaging in face-to-face outreach activity until the first few months of next year. So we have set up these Virtual School/College Visits.
This session provides an introduction to Churchill College and the University of Cambridge. The main focus of the ‘day’ is an introduction to studying Science-based subjects at Cambridge. It offers advice on how to prepare for and make stronger applications in Science- and Maths-based subjects, including tips on the interview.
There are a number of video resources below, which we think will be helpful for this topic. Of these, you can choose the ones which that are of an appropriate length and that are particularly relevant to your school/college.
Further videos can also be found on our YouTube channel and, in particular, the Virtual Churchill playlist. So do have a look at these to further customise your 'visit'.
In addition to these videos, you will find some further website resources and Virtual Tours below. We hope you can use the resources to create a tailor-made Virtual School/College Visit that will offer appropriate information and guidance to your pupils.
For example, a visit might include:
- 'Studying Science at Churchill'
- 'Inspiring Women in Science'
- 'What characteristics do we look for in prospective students?'
- 'Why I love my subject' x 2
- 'Top Tips for Interviews: Science'
- 'Preparing for STEM Assessments'
This would take 40-45 minutes, plus some time exploring the STEM supercurricular resources and the Virtual Tour.
