Activities to help prospective undergraduates, teachers and supporters find out more about subjects, applications and College.
Our Undergraduate Outreach and Admissions Team run events across the year to help interested students find out more about making a strong application, identify which subjects might be right for them, and to get a sense of what Cambridge and College life is like.

We also host school visits, typically for those schools in our Link areas (Sussex, Surrey, Merton, Sutton, Croydon, Mid- and South-Wales). Teachers can join our mailing list to find out more.

Teacher Development Programme

We are running a programme of professional development for UK teachers.
It aims to deepen teachers’ knowledge of the university application process, and develop their expertise in helping students cultivate the skills necessary for study at competitive universities.
The programme is free to attend.
The programme consists of a series of online webinars, combined with two in-person visits to Churchill College. Outreach and admissions professionals will lead the sessions, many of whom have a background in secondary school teaching.
The webinars will consist of interactive elements, the opportunity to ask questions, and suggestions for stretching your highest ability students. The webinars will be scheduled for after the school day, 4.30 – 5.30pm. Webinars will not be recorded so you should aim to attend live, but if you cannot make a session we will be able to distribute some materials afterwards.
In addition, you will also be invited to a one-night residential conference at Churchill College, including a formal dinner. This event will allow you to experience the University of Cambridge first-hand, meet and network with other teachers in similar roles, find out all about what an Oxbridge education requires and how the admissions process works.
At the end of the programme in summer 2027, we will give you the opportunity to bring a group of your Year 12 students to Churchill College for a day visit, so they can experience what studying here is like.

This programme is aimed at current teachers in UK state schools.
You should be involved with sixth form students, and/or advise on post-18 options. This could include Heads of Sixth Form, UCAS Coordinators or Careers Leads, among other roles.
The programme is also useful for teachers who advise students on their post-16 options (i.e. teachers who work with Year 11).
- Practical ways to develop your higher ability learners and equip them with the skills necessary to apply to competitive universities
- A better understanding of the university application process
- The opportunity to network with other teachers in similar roles
- First-hand experience of the University of Cambridge

If we are oversubscribed for the programme, we will prioritise applications from teachers at schools with relatively low application rates to Cambridge and Oxford.

We hold regular free online live presentations and question and answer sessions for prospective students, covering aspects of the Cambridge admissions process. These variously feature our Admissions Tutors, access and outreach team, and current undergraduates.
