Henry Purcell is famous for writing tuneful melodies above repeating bass-lines, known as ground bass ostinati. Churchill Swing, a small jazz group led from the bass by Ewan Campbell, ‘walk’ new paths over these well-trodden ‘grounds’.

Churchill College Music Society are hosting a Chamber Music Social to allow musicians to meet each other, exchange ideas, and, if it’s love at the first bar, maybe even email addresses! There will not be any music making as such, but there is the distinct possibility of some music networking.

The gathering is particularly geared to towards classical instrumentalists (keyboard, strings, wind or brass), but music is a transferable skill and all styles are welcome. Feel free to forward to this event to those who might be interested.
