Travelling by Public Transport
Train
Cambridge railway station has a frequent service from London King’s Cross, the Midlands and the North and a direct link from Stansted Airport, as well as plentiful local services. Cambridge railway station is situated 2 miles from Churchill College. The U bus travels directly from the station to Madingley Road, near the College.

Bus
Using the X5 and 905 bus services (with a change) facilitates transport between Oxford and Cambridge.
The Citi 4 bus stops near to the College on Madingley Road and goes into the City Centre.
The U bus (form 23 July 2016) goes from Madingley Road via West Road, Silver Street, Trumpington Street, The Botanic Garden, Cambridge railway station to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

From the South (M11)
From the M11 (from the south). Exit at Junction 13
Please note: There is no exit southbound at Junction 13 on M11. See directions below for A14 (from the north west).
At the end of the slip road, turn right onto Madingley Road. Continue towards the City Centre. Pass the Cavendish Laboratory on the right, followed by the College playing fields on the left. Take the next left turning onto Storey’s Way. Churchill College is on the left hand corner of the site. Drive past the front of the College. Take the first turning on the left which has a sign ‘Churchill Road, Private Road’. Follow the directions below for parking.
From the West (A428)
From the A428 (from the west)
After the blue pedestrian bridge, exit the A428, crossing the roundabout onto the A1303 signed for Cambridge. Pass the American War Cemetery on your left and continue towards the City Centre, crossing the M11. Pass the Cavendish Laboratory on the right, followed by the College playing fields on the left.
Take the next left turning onto Storey’s Way. Churchill College is on the left hand corner of the site. Drive past the front of the College. Take the first turning on the left which has a sign ‘Churchill Road, Private Road’. Follow the directions below for parking.
From the East (A14)
From the A14
Take the third exit signposted for Cambridge. At top of the slip road take the first exit signposted Cambridge (B1049). Follow this road for approximately 2km, reaching the T-junction at the end. Turn right and then immediately left through two sets of traffic lights.
You are on the A1307 heading towards central Cambridge. Continue down the hill until you reach another set of traffic lights (The Museum of Cambridge will be on your right). Turn right at these traffic lights onto Northampton Street. Take the second exit at the roundabout onto Madingley Road (heading west, towards the M11). After three sets of traffic lights, take the right turn onto Storey’s Way. Pass the College on the left and turn left into Churchill Road, Private Road’. Follow the directions below for parking.
From the North-West (A14)
Take junction 31 off A14 (just as it meets the M11). Follow signs to Cambridge along A1307, keeping in the right-hand lane. Continue towards Cambridge City Centre, travelling along Huntingdon Road. Pass Girton College and Hotel Felix on your left and continue down Huntingdon Road (A1307). Passing Fitzwilliam and Murray Edwards colleges on your right, drive through the double set of traffic lights, and continue down the hill until you reach another set of traffic lights (The Museum of Cambridge will be on your right).
Turn right at these traffic lights onto Northampton Street. Take the second exit at the roundabout onto Madingley Road (heading west, towards the M11). After three sets of traffic lights, take the right turn onto Storey’s Way. Pass the College on the left and turn left into Churchill Road, Private Road’. Follow the directions below for parking.
From the City Centre
This route is via the city centre ring road.
Approach the roundabout with Madingley Road (A1303) either from Queen’s Road (A1134, clockwise) or Chesterton Road (A1303, anti-clockwise). Turn onto Madingley Road (heading west, towards the M11). After three sets of traffic lights, take the right turn onto Storey’s Way. Pass the College on the left and turn left into Churchill Road, Private Road. Follow the directions below for parking.
On reaching Churchill Road, Private Road: Continue past the staff car park on the immediate left. Parking is available along the right-hand side of the Private Road and in the car park at the top, past the Møller Centre car park.
Parking & Electric Car Charging
There is ample, free parking at the College either along Churchill Road (the College’s private road) or in the main car park at the end of that road. Permits are not required.
As part of our commitment to sustainability the College has three charging points for electric cars which guests are welcome to use. Users should book their car in at the Porters Lodge on arrival making plans to relocate it, freeing up the space for the next user, after four hours.
