Katherine Stott attended Churchill College as an undergraduate in Natural Sciences, matriculating in 1990. Following a PhD in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopic techniques with James Keeler in the Department of Chemistry, she moved across the road to the Department of Biochemistry where she was employed by the Cambridge Centre for Molecular Recognition in the high-field NMR facility, and as a teaching By-Fellow at Newnham College, before joining the chromatin research group headed by Professor Jean. O. Thomas. She now manages the Biophysics Facility in the Department of Biochemistry alongside running a small research group, and collaborates with scientists university-wide wishing to apply NMR and other biophysical techniques to answer biological questions.
