Wenxin Mao is a Royal Society Newton International Fellow and a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cambridge. He completed his PhD in 2019 from Monash University, Australia. Before joining CEB at University of Cambridge in March 2024, he held an Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP) Fellowship and was an ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science Research Fellow. Dr Mao is active in the training and supervision of research students in crystallization control and fabrication of high-performance optoelectronic devices. This includes the close supervision of four Master students and two PhD students with their PhD thesis on controlling the growth of inorganic perovskite single crystals for X-ray detection and imaging; and the fabrication of highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells. He welcomes postgraduate candidates with strong interest in semiconducting materials and their optoelectronic properties to join the Optoelectronic Materials and Device Spectroscopy Group.
