William is a clinician scientist specialising in infectious diseases and medical microbiology. He is interested in applying cutting-edge tools in genomics and data science to improve the management of serious infections. You can find out more about his research here: www.hamilton-genomics.com.

William was a student at Churchill College for 9 years, 2007-2016, gaining an undergraduate degree, PhD and medical degree. He really enjoyed his time there and was an active member of Churchill College Boat Club (he misses rowing!)

After graduating, William undertook clinical academic training in Brighton and the East of England region. In 2022 he became a Clinical Lecturer in Medical Microbiology at Cambridge University and in 2024 became a Post-Doctoral By-Fellow at Churchill College. William has found Churchill to be a very friendly and down-to-earth place to live and study and has very fond memories there. He is pleased to have been part of the JCR, MCR and now SCR!
