Lecturers, Professors and College Officers

Neil Mathur is Professor of Materials Physics in the Department of Materials Science, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He is also Senior Treasurer of the university cross-country running club (Cambridge University Hare & Hounds).

His research group studies the physics of systems with notable electrical and magnetic properties, e.g. using thin films and devices. His work on electrocalorics explores electrically driven thermal changes, and his work on magnetoelectrics explores electrical control of magnetism.

He read Physics at Churchill (BA and PhD), joined Materials Science in 1996, and joined the college as a Fellow in 2000.
