Churchill Connections at the Cambridge Festival 2026

The 2026 interdisciplinary Cambridge Festival will take place from mid-March to the 2 April with a mixture of online, on-demand and in-person events covering all aspects of the world-leading research happening at Cambridge. 

Once again, we’ve scoured the programme to highlight events featuring Churchill College connections; from Churchill Fellows to the annual Alex Hopkins lecture. 

All these events are free to attend but booking is often required – see below for details. 

Friday 13 March

6:15pm – 7:00pm: Churchill College Music Centre, Recital Room
‘The Marsyas Trio in concert’
Churchill College’s Artist By-Fellows, the Marsyas Trio, present a programme of vibrant works by members of the New York Women Composers, featuring music by Marilyn Bliss, Whitney George, Chen Yi and Hilary Tann, brought to Cambridge for the first time. No booking required.

Monday 16 March

5:30pm – 6:45pm: The Glasshouse, 100 Hills Rd, CB2 1LQ
‘From Cambridge to the world: AI and digital policy’
Churchill Fellow Prof. Dame Diane Coyle is the keynote speaker at this panel event showcasing the University of Cambridge and the Bennett School of Public Policy’s leading research, teaching and real-word impact in AI and digital policy. The discussion will dissect the gap between AI promise and delivery, explore how AI and digital technologies can drive inclusive, sustainable growth, and examine how research and policy interact across local, national and global levels. Thursday 19 March

7:30pm – 9:00pm: The Dome, Murray Edwards College
‘In Other Wor(l)ds: Travelling through Translation’
Churchill Fellows Dr Ewan Campbell (Director of Music) and Dr Tara Talwar Windsor (PDBF in MMLL) are co-curating an evening of live music from the Inter Alios Choir, performed readings, and a discussion with Natasha Brown (award-winning novelist and chair of the International Booker Prize jury) on the topic of travelling through translation. Friday 20 March

2.00pm – 5.00pm: Sixties Room, Churchill College
‘Music-Medicine, Wellness-Creatives’
The Centre for Intercultural Musicology at Churchill College (CIMaCC) and the Bill Brown Creative Workshops curate an exciting programme where leading surgeons share their innovative engagement with music in their surgeries, followed by an experiential session of wellness creatives. Saturday 21 March

1:00pm – 4:00pm: Churchill Archives Centre
‘How to preserve your past: Workshop on caring for your own photographs and archives at home’
Churchill Archives Centre and independent community archivist and artist educator Cassia Clarke will deliver a practical, hands-on session designed to equip you with mindful and practical approaches to handle, store and preserve your personal photographs and ephemera at home. Monday 23 March

5:30pm – 7:00pm: Wolfson Lecture Theatre, Churchill College
‘Breaking Barriers: Women in Politics Film Screening and Panel Discussion’
Screening of the documentary ‘Groundbreakers’, featuring trailblazing women in British politics as they share stories about their personal and political journeys, followed by a panel discussion with leading female politicians. No booking required, just turn up! Find out more

Friday 27 March

‘Keeping it light’
