The College is extremely grateful to the hundreds of alumni who made donations to the College as part of the ChuGives Month of Giving this March. Generous £ for £ matching by major donors to the College doubled the impact of all gifts made to support postgraduate students at Churchill.
Over £140,000 has been added to the Postgraduate Studentship Endowment. This will help the College attract future generations of talented postgraduates to ensure that Churchill continues to be an institution where outstanding researchers thrive. By growing the Postgraduate Studentship Endowment, the College will be able to increase the support it can offer for postgraduate study.

(G24)Alumni also chose to make gifts to help fund Postgraduate Hardship Grants and Postgraduate Academic Travel Grants. Nine postgraduate students will receive financial support to enable them to present a paper or poster at a recognised academic conference directly thanks to the donations made during March.
Three current postgraduate students chatted on the phone with alumni around the world, and alumni living in 23 countries made donations. Donations were made on every day of the month, successfully completing the “Month of Giving” challenge and unlocking £5,000 of challenge funding into the Think Forward Fund.
Thank you to everyone in the wider Churchill community for being part of the ChuGives Month of Giving.
Around twenty Postgraduate Studentships which include funding from the College are awarded each year. This is in addition to the Churchill Scholars. Depending on the level of input that is secured from external Trusts and Foundations, Postgraduate Studentships require varying amounts of funding from the College. In 2023-24, the College contributed up to £28,205 towards each Studentship.
Whilst the ChuGives Month of Giving has ended, donations to the College are welcome all year round. More information can be found on our Fundraising pages.
