Admissions assessments that required pre-registration

If you’re applying for a course that requires a Pre-registration assessment (ESAT, LNAT, TMUA, UCAT) you will already be aware of this and will have registered/already completed this assessment. If you do not take the appropriate assessment for your chosen course, your application will be ineligible and will be rejected. If you require access arrangements, extenuating circumstances considerations, or if you suffer any disruption on the day, you must contact the relevant test provider about this. Churchill College is unable to administer any such adjustments or considerations for these assessments.

Interview Process and Logistics

If you’re called to interview, we’ll contact you by email as soon as possible. All Churchill College interviews are held online via Zoom; you’re not required to travel to Cambridge. More information is on our interview page.

Please don’t worry if other people you know receive invitations to interview before you do, whether from Churchill or any other Cambridge College. Not all applicants are contacted at the same time or interviewed on the same dates. We hope to have contacted everyone about Churchill interviews by 29 November. Those being interviewed early in the interview window will be contacted first.

Please be patient and do not contact the Admissions Office about this until 29 November unless you absolutely have to.

For most courses, we anticipate applicants will be interviewed in a two-week period in December 2025 (the weeks commencing 1 December and 8 December), but some interviews may fall outside of this period. Please note that this two-week interview period includes the weekend of 6 and 7 December.

If you are unavailable at any point during the weeks commencing 1 December and 8 December, and have not told us in your MyCApp, you should tell us now by email.

If you’re called for interview, we’ll send you full information about how the process will work. The University also has useful interview videos: Preparing for your online interview and What to expect at your online interview.

Decisions and the Winter Pool

Decisions will be visible in UCAS Hub on or around 30 January 2026.

You can find Information about our entry requirements and typical conditional offers at our Entry Requirements page.

After interview, your application may be placed in the Winter Pool for other Colleges to consider. This occurs when we feel you have submitted a strong application but we are not able to offer you a place at Churchill College.

Pooled candidates are often highly academically able, and several of them secure places at other Colleges. You don’t need to contact Churchill or any other Cambridge College about the Winter Pool process. It runs before our decisions are published at the end of January. If your application is placed in the Winter Pool, we’ll advise you of the outcome.

Feedback

Because of the very high volume of applications received, and in line with the University of Cambridge’s standard position, Churchill College does not provide individual feedback to unsuccessful candidates. However, information to contextualise our decision will be provided in rejection letters, both for candidates who are rejected before interview and for those who are rejected after interview.

Churchill College is committed to transparency in its admissions process and work with schools and colleges across the UK and worldwide to support them in preparing future applicants. To this end, we send annual admissions reports to the schools and colleges from whom we receive applications.

We warmly encourage schools and colleges seeking guidance from the College on future applications to get in touch.

By applying to Churchill College, applicants confirm that they understand and accept that individual feedback on applications will not be provided.

Contacting us

It’s an incredibly busy time for our Admissions Office, so please only get in touch when we ask you to or when you have a question that is imperative.

We can only communicate to candidates via the email addresses or phone numbers that are listed on their UCAS applications. We can only communicate with individuals whose contact details are listed on an UCAS application – such as the candidate themselves, their UCAS referee, or any other listed representative.

Whenever you contact us at [email protected], please start your communication with the following information:

  • Your full name,
  • Your UCAS PID, and
  • The course for which you are applying

We wish you all the very best with your application.
