Staff wellbeing

Churchill College offers support for staff health and wellbeing through benefits like Simplyhealth and access to College facilities such as the gym.

In addition, all members of staff have access to the College Library. The Library’s Wellbeing Collection has over 150 books and ebooks which have been curated by the library team with assistance from the College Nurse and College Counsellor. The collection covers a range of topics including bereavement, depression, anxiety and self-esteem.

Counselling

If you would like access to free face to face counselling please send an email to counsellor@chu.cam.ac.uk stating that you are a member of staff and that you would like to access counselling. Please don’t give any details about why you are interested in counselling in the email – a member of the counselling team will reply to your email to make contact and you can then discuss your issues in confidence.

If you use the counselling service, it would greatly help us if you could let us know, anonymously, any feedback on the service, to make sure that what is being provided is meeting staff needs. The counselling feedback form can be completed online.

Simplyhealth

Staff who are members of Simplyhealth  have access to a counsellor by phone and to a GP advice line 24/7 365 days a year. The cost of Simplyhealth membership is covered by the College. Speak to HR if you are not already a member and would like to join.

College Nurse

The College Surgery is located in 31c, close to the Porters’ Lodge. Please email for an appointment or drop in if urgent (such as for immediate first aid). It is open daily during the week in term-time for all students, staff, visiting fellows and conference delegates. Out of term, the surgery will be open on reduced hours.

Please email nurse@chu.cam.ac.uk for appointments. Emails are attended in working hours only. Video, telephone or face to face appointments are available.
