Manus is a theoretical physicist and is affiliated as a postdoctoral researcher to the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics in Cambridge. He studied philosophy and physics in Amsterdam and Oxford, and is passionate about combining these two fields. He undertook his PhD in Amsterdam, and subsequently worked in Geneva before coming to Cambridge. His research focuses on classical and quantum aspects of gravity, in particular trying to understand the emergence of gravity from an underlying microscopic description.
