Before retirement, Frank King was a Senior Lecturer in the Computer Laboratory with a particular interest in programming languages and extra-departmental teaching. For many years he was Director of Studies in Computer Science in Churchill. He is currently Chairman of the British Sundial Society and has designed a number of notable sundials: at Pembroke, Selwyn and Newnham Colleges in Cambridge and in Old Palace Yard outside the House of Lords in London as well as the noon mark on the new London Stock Exchange.
