Lecturers, Professors and College Officers,

Henning is Hitachi Professor of Electron Device Physics and a Royal Society Research Professor at the Cavendish Lab. He works in the field of organic semiconductors, investigating the transmission of electrical current through organic molecules and polymers. Organic semiconductors show a rich variety of phenomena not exhibited by conventional inorganic semiconductors such as silicon. He is also interested in thermal energy harvesting and converting heat energy into more useful forms of energy, such as electricity. Henning is co-founder of Plastic Logic/FlexEnable Ltd, a Cambridge start-up company commercializing printed organic transistor technology. Like so many of today’s scientists, Henning’s background is international: he trained in Zurich and Princeton.
