A gloved pair of hands cleans a document with a brush

The Churchill Archives Centre is starting a podcast and the first episode is already available online now on our Soundcloud where you’ll also find our Prototype Sound Archives page, gathering a selection of audio files from our collections.

Maybe you already know that the Churchill Archives Centre is the home to the personal papers of 600 political, military and scientific figures. But don’t you want to know more about what’s happening behind the scenes and who is working with the collections?

The podcast will open the doors to the Archives Centre by interviewing the actors who promote, conserve, study and explore the great richness of its collections.

In this first episode, we interview our Senior Conservator, Sarah Lewery, who has been preserving the collections for more than 20 years. She has an extended knowledge of the collections and how to preserve them. In this conversation, Sarah talks about how she started her career in conservation, what are the challenges of today, how she handled things during the Covid-period and what the best part of her job is.

Please let us know if you like this type of content and who you would like to hear on the podcast by liking this track and via our social media.
