The Churchill College community is always doing amazing things. Here is a roundup of the latest achievements and projects by our Members from the last few weeks.

Our beautiful buildings at 36 Storey’s Way, designed by Cottrell and Vermeulen Architecture, have been voted building of the year in the East by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Fellow and CARES Director for the Singapore-Cambridge CREATE Research Centre, Professor Markus Kraft, has announced the release of his latest book, Intelligent Decarbonisation. In it, he and his co-author Dr Oliver Inderwildi comprehensively assesses the current and future impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) on the decarbonisation of key economic sectors.

Fellow and Immunologist, Dr Michelle Linterman has been awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant for her work investigating how age impacts on vaccine response.

Fellow in Biochemistry, Professor Susan Ozanne, has been elected a new Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.

Fellow and social psychologist Dr Sander van der Linden featured in the latest episode of the BBC series, The Digital Human. Sander discusses his work on ‘viral altruism’ at 11 minutes.

Junior Research Fellow Dr Leor Zmigrod won the High Commendation Award of the 2022 Cambridge Student Union Student-Led Teaching Awards in the Student Support by Academic Staff category. In addition, Leor was also selected as the winner of the 2022 Women in Cognitive Science (WiCS) Emerging Leaders Award.

Three of our Fellows, Dr Neil Davies, Dr Owen Griffiths, and Professor Chris Tout, were awarded 2022 Pilkington Prizes, which recognise excellence in teaching.
