Here at Churchill College, we are delighted to share the outcome of our 2021 admissions round.

After another challenging academic year against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, the academic results awarded to our entrants this year are – impressively – the strongest we have ever seen. We always seek to admit students who will flourish at Cambridge, and with all of our entrants this year meeting or exceeding their conditional offers, we know that they have the very best chance of thriving during their time with us.

The University’s statistical target for state sector admissions amongst UK undergraduates this year is 64.6%. At a fraction under 80% (79.28%), Churchill’s proportion of UK entrants from state education is the highest it has been in recent records. In addition, we’re continuing to make great inroads towards consistently admitting gender-balanced cohorts, with nearly half of this year’s entrants (47.5%) identifying as female, compared with just over 40% two years ago.

Speaking of this year’s cohort, our Admissions Tutor, Dr Jonathan Padley said, “we’re conscious that these offer-holders have faced unprecedented disruption to their post-16 education, so their achievement in joining us now – from amongst the largest application field that the University has lately seen – is all the more impressive.  We’re hugely looking forward to welcoming them to College, alongside returning students, at the start of October.”

And our Acting Senior Tutor, Dr Rita Monson added, “in such a challenging time, we are excited to welcome this year’s cohort into our College Community in October. They will find a welcoming environment that is inclusive and warm to all. Given the circumstances, the results awarded to this year’s entrants are a tremendous achievement and we look forward to working with them over their undergraduate studies.”
