Engineering Outreach at Churchill
STEM Smart
Churchill College is involved in STEM Smart, a programme run annually by the University of Cambridge, where Cambridge students mentor sixth formers through their school STEM courses. The programme has now closed for 2022/2023 but you can read about Asmita Niyogi experience of mentoring, as a second year undergraduate at Churchill College studying natural sciences.

Churchill College webinars
Churchill College hosts regular free online live presentations and question and answer sessions that variously feature our Admissions Tutors, Widening Participation Officer, and current undergraduates. The list of available sessions is regularly updated.
Our CORE Fellow
Rachel Thorley works at Churchill College as the CORE fellow. This is a new role, generously funded by donors Greg and Rosie Lock, and stands for Community, Outreach and Recruitment in Engineering.
In her role, Rachel builds on and develops Churchill College’s Engineering community: creating strong and effective links between the College and schools, further education colleges, the alumni network and industrial partnerships.
Sustainable Urban Futures
This residential is a fantastic way to learn how studying a whole variety of university degrees could empower you to make a difference to Sustainable Development, and find out more about studying at a top university. Students come together as part of a team, designing and building a temporary “home” based on informal settlement shelters. They learn about different cultures and work within budgets, designing and innovating to make the shelter a comfortable, practical space to live and work.
