Open to final year undergraduates and first and second-year graduates in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) subjects at Churchill College.
Proposals should be for research that the entrant or entrants intend to complete themselves. It is hoped that the prize money might help facilitate the research. The prize is open to anyone who submits research in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects. The panel has also indicated an interest in any proposals with a particular focus on the following themes: Energy (oil and gas, solar etc), Engineering and Big Data.
Selected students will be invited to a Shell Poster Session and the winner will be announced on the night.

Applications
When the application process open, applicants will need to submit a 2-page proposal to development@chu.cam.ac.uk with the subject line: ‘Shell Churchill Research Prize’.
Group-entries are permissible, with prize-money to be split among the group and each individuals contribution will need to be clear in the proposal.
Each proposal should clearly state
- Research objective
- Wider value of the research
- Progress to date
- Commercial potential
The proposal will be assessed on the following criteria quality of presentation, research knowledge, innovation and commercial potential.
